Ubiquiti UniFi Glass Break Sensor

Advanced wireless sensor for glass break detection with integrated motion sensor for comprehensive space security.

The sensor uses an acoustic detector to identify characteristic frequencies and vibration patterns of broken glass and provides reliable perimeter protection with instant alerts upon break detection. It recognizes a wide range of glass types including plate, tempered, frosted, laminated, coated, and wired glass ranging in size from 280 × 356 mm to 1067 × 1626 mm and thickness from 2.4 to 6.4 mm.

The device communicates via proprietary SuperLink technology with a range of up to 2 km and operates in the 915.6–927.6 MHz (US) or 865.1–869.5 MHz (EU) frequency band. Power is provided by two replaceable CR123A batteries with a lifespan of up to 3 years. The sensor is integrated into the UniFi Protect application and meets FCC, IC, CE certifications and is NDAA compliant.

Installation Requirements
The sensor must be installed vertically at approximately 2 m above the floor and at a distance of 2–7.6 m from the glass. The installation surface must be clean and dust-free. Avoid installation near sources of noise or vibration such as fans, air conditioning units, speakers, or doorbells. The microphone must not be covered by curtains, furniture, or other objects.

Functionality Testing
Testing the sensor by actually breaking glass is not recommended. To verify functionality, it is advisable to use a commonly available third-party glass break simulator.

Controls and Indication
The sensor is equipped with a function button, factory reset button, and tamper switch. Status LEDs indicate device status (red/blue/white) and signal strength (blue/red).
